Where does time go?

I looked at my blog the other day, and then I exited out.......
I am back today and ready to blog a year and a half later.
Wow! Life has been crazy! I started homeschooling my 4th, 7th, and 9th grader this year and what a year it has been! Many changes have been done and more to come.

Christmas Time

It's Almost Christmas! We have Erick's brother Kevin and family here from TN and we are having a great time!

Cake!

This past Saturday I made my first Wedding cake. Carolyn came over to help me with the stacking. It turned out beautiful! I was worried about the fillings, mostly the raspberry, oozing out the sides, but I had none of that! Everything was perfect, if I do say so myself.
I made a 4 layer white cake with chocolate filling in the bottom and top layer, white chocolate in the second to the bottom layer and raspberry filling in the second from the top layer. I also added almond extract to the frosting - YUMMY! I did the splatted look - very easy. The flowers really added to the elegant look.

Jason and Kati's wedding was great and she just looked beautiful!

Sickness.........

It's coming! The winter along with it's bugs..........flu bugs that is! Yesterday I had both Zach and Justin home sick. Both with different symptoms. Zach is back at school today, but Justin is still home with a cough and sore throat. No fever yet, though!

Just Another Busy Day

Monday......day after Sunday. Kids at school, husband at work, and me and our 2 cats and a fish (we never acknowledge down in the basement that just wont die) are home. The cats are running around the house and the fish is swimming around, and I am just sitting at the computer getting things done (too many to mention). I have had a whole week to myself during the day and am loving it! I get so much done when all the kids are gone! Maybe I can catch up and just sit and read for a day.......NOT! WAY TOO MUCH TO DO!

Yesterday our Jr. Church class sang a song that we have practiced on all summer. They did a good job and were very proud of themselves for getting through it. Next Sunday will be the last Sunday for 2 of our kids and us :( - I am so sad to be leaving. I really liked my class. It just got too many adults in there, though. So Erick and I are the ones to leave. We have other things that we do in the church, so we will keep busy. Anyway, we are having a little going away party.

Family Fun

Last Sunday and Monday we went to Wisconsin Dells to stay at the Wilderness Resort. We really had a great time together. It is interesting to see what interest the kids have as they get older and how something that was a favorite just last year to all 3 has become an exciting event to only one now. How I wish the kids would stay young and have fun and be fun all their lives! But.........I guess they have to grow and challenge us in what to have fun at as a whole family.
